Temple Beth Tikvah is a forward looking, multi-generational, egalitarian Conservative congregation looking to "reJEWvenate" itself in the 21st century. Our mission is to meet the needs of all generations of Jewish people and make TBT relevant for them while continuing to offer the programs and services appreciated by our current congregants. We are seeking to hire a an Administrator for Community Engagement and Outreach .

The Administrator for Community Engagement and Outreach focuses on creating and managing new and innovative programs that encourage every person to feel connected, experience meaningful engagement, and find a “second” home within our congregation. The Director functions as a concierge and ambassador for the congregation, and therefore must have the ability to form meaningful relationships with our members. The Director creates an atmosphere of warmth, character, and strength in our Jewish community.
Job responsibilities include:
Membership
• Strategically develop ways to reach and impact members and potential members. Utilize community organizing and relational methodologies to strategize for, and sustain, successful membership outreach, in-reach, engagement, and retention.
• Oversee communication with new and prospective members, conduct in-person and phone conversations, facility tours, and process membership inquiries and applications.
• Communicate with and track members through various phases of their membership experience.
• Work with board leadership to develop strategy for recruitment of new members.
• Plan new member retention events.
• Coordinate meetings between key clergy, staff, existing members and prospective members.
• Work to maximize general recruitment, awareness, membership curricula, and engagement practices. Develop membership materials, program marketing, and brochures with a view to ensure that new, existing, prospective, and uninvolved members feel invited, interested, and welcome at all synagogue functions.
• Identify, implement, monitor, and evaluate engagement opportunities.
• Contact members who resign and conduct exit interviews, and report findings from these interviews to board leadership.
• Provide regular reports to the board detailing status on upcoming events and ongoing projects.
• Partner with clergy to create, implement, sustain, and evaluate membership initiatives.
Engagement and Events
• Responsible for programs, services, and events that present outreach opportunities, both on-site and off-site, and serve as an ambassador at these events.
• Monitor the life-cycle events of our members, including simchas and bereavement, and assist Clergy and board with opportunities for support of our membership.
Community-building
• Strong awareness and collaboration with outside organizations with relevance to synagogue membership.
• Attend community and private social, cultural, and educational life-cycle events, and other events that build membership value.

Marketing and Communication
Overall responsibility for:

  1. Maintain and update relevant information on synagogue website, including ongoing contact with website designer
  2. Press releases, flyers, monthly bulletin.
  3. Ongoing contact with media resources.
  4. Constant contact, chaverware
  5. Google alerts, Facebook, various social media avenues for promotion of synagogue, programs, and events.
  6. Banners, outdoor signage.
    Job Requirements
    • A bachelor’s degree (Jewish Education, Social Services, etc.) preferred.
    • Demonstrated record of success in similar or relevant positions.
    • A knowledge of Jewish practices, holidays, and synagogue community.
    • Demonstrated leadership and administrative skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
    • Strong ability to work collaboratively with leadership, including the Board of Directors.
    Job Type: Full-time, salaried
